Calling All Democratic Socialists!
Democratic Socialism isn’t such a new concept, but it’s one that has not had as much attention as other parties. Like so many of you, we were once part of a major political party, and like so many of you, we found them lacking in so many ways.
The Sonoma County chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, SoCo DSA, is just getting started and we would love to have your ideas in our group!
Democratic Socialism is Not New
Democratic socialism can be a scary proposition at first, mostly because we were all taught to fear that word, socialism. We were taught that socialism was tantamount to corruption and that it would consume all of our resources and leave the most needy of us with nothing. Ironically, this was a great description of capitalism, as socialism is a polar opposite in which the people work in the best interests of each other, socially, instead of large corporations and greedy billionaires getting the rewards for everything we do.
