Taxpayers Against Genocide is Suing Congressional Representatives from Northern California!<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you live in Sonoma County, either Mike Thompson or Jared Huffman represents you in the United States House of Representatives. Mike Thompson represents Eastern Sonoma County and has long been a part of the Democratic Party’s conservative Blue Dog caucus. Jared Huffman has represents Western Sonoma County and has attempted to market himself as something of a progressive. Both of these men have continually supported United States economic and military aid to Israel. They have continued to do so even as their constituents have turned decisively against United States support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. In response to this, Taxpayers Against Genocide has filed a class action lawsuit against Thompson and Huffman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxpayers Against Genocide states in their class action lawsuit that “Mike Thompson and Jared Huffman exceeded the constitutional limitations on their tax and spend authority by voting to authorize the funding of the Israeli military when they were aware, or should have been aware, that the Israeli military was committing genocide in Gaza.” You can read all about the full lawsuit here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thompson and Huffman have used the tax dollars of everyone in their districts to fund the ongoing genocide in Gaza. It must be stated that this genocide is only possible because the United States financially supports it at every turn. If you paid any income tax in Sonoma County in 2023 or 2024, you can add your name to Taxpayers Against Genocide’s lawsuit against Thompson and Huffman. Adding your name to this suit will help to strengthen Taxpayers Against Genocide’s legal case. As such, Sonoma County Democratic Socialists of America implores you to add yourself to this class action lawsuit. Together, we can hold our representatives accountable and fight back against United States support for genocide!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either Thompson or Huffman is still your representative, and so you are still able to add your name to this lawsuit if you live in any of the following counties:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
